Hello Cagayan de Oro City, it’s been awhile that Abonitalla.com is updated. As you may have experienced in our city, we are constantly having brownouts the past several days and this is due to our weather disturbance that is the El Niño phenomenon which is forcasted to last until june this year. Since most of our electric energy here in Mindanao which Cagayan de Oro is situated came from hydro power energy we are greatly affected on this weather disturbance because the lakes and rivers that the hydro power is getting there energy is drying up. To help our Kagay-anons manage there working time with the regular brownouts, the following schedules is publish here and we will be keeping this updated as new schedules arrive from Cepalco.
Please find below the load shedding schedule (5 hours rotating brownouts every other day per area) within the CEPALCO service area for the period March 2 to March 9, 2010 (Tuesday to Tuesday) due to the continuing power supply curtailments imposed by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) all over Mindanao.
Again, CEPALCO would like to caution customers that the actual switch off and switch on time may slightly vary from the announced schedule depending on the actual load curtailment level imposed by NGCP on CEPALCO on a day to day basis.

they are not following thier so called schedule. brownout na everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just the past days cagayan de oro brownouts is erratic, you can check the link here for the updated schedule cepalco.com.ph/readpower.php?id=56
it is not just this year we experience el niño… i don’t think this is really the reason behind why we are experiencing all the brownouts all over the Philippines… Specially in Mindanao when we had the bagyong Undoy their was a representative from the Napocor that the dams here in mindanao can still survive and has enough supply incase el niño comes… so what happened? in a spanned of 5 months all the water in the dams evaporated… o come on!!! this must stop…
Please remove post contents regarding brownout scheds if not UPDATED. They’re creating confusions and misunderstandings to your site viewers. You dont want them to be misguided. Better yet if they’ll read King’s comments regarding the link for updated cepalco scheds. Guys some people will hardly notice or read site feedback/comments. Perhaps a highlighted CEPALCO LINK to the updated sched be inserted just below topic title/heading.tnx
make use of the el nino. implement solar power
Is it okay to put all the blackouts in Gumamela Ext. Carmen at noon time to 6 pm so it won’t disturb all the people. all the street lights don’t work and the student like me is also disturbed by this.
As I understand this all comes down to business, if napocor gives cepalco extra power they will not switch off there power even there is a schedule since this is also a big loss to them in terms of revenue of providing power to our homes.
@albert i just give the link of cepalco since sometimes they also change there own schedule.
I dont understan this kind of blackout. Sometimes 6-10 sometimes 6-11. My children cant slep because of that blackout. Why is it in moresco they only have 2 hours brownout sometimes no brown out. This wat i called stupid. Stupid stupid

what’s with this brownout schedule???why are they doing this??/for what reason???and for what purposes???do they think that it could help for the improvement of the community??do they analyze the possible effect of this in the community????
it seems so unfair!!!!!like regilene said, we’ve been paying such high bills in the electricity but still there’s no enough services that is being delivered like now, this brownout schedules..how could we be satisfied with our payments??
All those run our electric power sources are damn “polpol!”. They know that el nino is coming and they have not prepared for it. I wish they all resign. These kind of people were greatly affected by these incurable human character which is greed. I think they have brains but it usage is limited to its holder. They are desame as our government official, only money comes first ,very materialistic. Cepalco also “walay” concern talaga sa ato mga consumer, they are like dogs always fallow its master NGCP and NAPOCOR. That increase in bills they have not even question NAPOCOR why and our power situation is still desame. According to one radio they’re still not using fuel powered plants so the increase should not be implemented. Those damn greed people i hope karma will stuck them playing us ordinary people.
can you please clearly state the brownout schedule, I am from Group B, if our schedule is 8-1 it will happen again at 6-9 PM…what the hell is going cepalco?
where is the justice???you stupid!!!
damn CEPALCO,fuck this schedule of brown outs of yours….its getting irritated now…but what else we should do,these officials didn’t want to listen…no action from these morons…
just want a clarification of this moron officials of CEPALCO,when you idiots sets a blackout in the night schedule it seems you intend to annoy us here…instead of 5 hours black out you extend it to 6 hours of waiting the powers back…are you morons try to do these?fuck all of you people it is clear that you are stealing 1 hour as you set only 5 hours of black out…it happens two times already…fuck you…fuck you..your schedule at night are very annoying…you dont follow exact schedule as your advertise sched are setting….damn all of you…hope ypu guys are also suffering of what you have done to us at night…

CEPALCO GRANDIOSE PLAN OF RELYING ON SOLAR POWER COMPOUNDED THE LONG AND UNSCHEDULED BROWNOUTS. JUST BECAUSE THEY SET UP SAY ONE mw SOLAR PLANT THAT IT WILL HAVE A CAPACITY OF 1 MW. SOLAR PLANT OPERATES ONLY 50% OF THE TIME BECAUSE THE SUN IS OUT ONLY 12 HOURS PER DAY. IF CLOUDY AND DUSTY THE CAPACITY IS REDUCED FURTHER. BECAUSE CEPALCO HAS TO PUT INTO THE GRID WHAT THEY CAN GENERATE, CEPALCO CLIENTS GET EVEN LESS THAN THEY EXPECT. CEPALCO SUBSCRIBERS SHOULD BE WARY ABOUT THE PLAN OF PUTTING ALL THE COMPANY’S MONEY IN ONE BASKET – SOLAR.
